Alivia Gladden

she inhales.
allowing the breeze’s murmurs
to envelope as an intimate embrace
she strokes the grass blades
fresh dew purges winter’s grasp

she closes her eyes
each gust melting frosted grief
she knows His promises are true,
anticipating the coming season
the promise of spring

she no longer overwhelms herself
with thoughts of the past
she is tranquilized
welcoming the unknown
reclining in the green

she exhales.
