Bailey Lane – Social Media Manager
Bailey Lane is a Junior at Shorter University. She’s a Psychology major with a triple minor in Spanish, Christian Studies, and Strategic Communications. Since she was a little girl, she’s always loved writing. She’s always been captivated by the way that words can communicate feelings, emotions, and memories. Moreover, she is so honored to be apart of this incredible team and is so excited to see what all the Lord has in store. She considers the Chimes literary excellency and feels so blessed to be a part of it!
Hayley Arthur – Website Manager
Hayley Arthur is an English major at Shorter University who is passionate about God, storytelling, and people. When she’s not doing homework, Hayley is spending time with loved ones, walking her dog, Teddy, or jamming out to musical theater in her kitchen–but don’t worry, she’ll be back to academia in no time.
Caroline Lewis – Poetry Editor
Caroline Lewis is a sophomore English major. She was homeschooled all her life, and this is her first full-time semester at Shorter. Her passions include reading, writing poetry, dancing, crocheting, and engaging in extensive theological/literary discussions. She loves Shorter’s English department and is enjoying being on the Chimes staff!
Alicyn Harris – Fiction Editor
Alicyn has been writing on and off her entire life and has recently gotten back into the hobby. She is a junior in college and even though she plans to go into a career in STEM, she hopes to have some published works of writing in the future.
Hannah McDuffie – Non-fiction Editor
Hannah McDuffie is a 3rd year Psychology major and Art minor at Shorter University. She is an honors student, serves on the student government, and a member of Alpha Chi and Pi Gamma Mu. After undergrad, she will be obtaining her masters in clinical mental health in hopes to become an LPC and counsel from a christian perspective.
Lucas Durand – Website Manager
Lucas is a Communications major and chorus member at Shorter University. He enjoys music of various sorts, from soundtracks and Sinatra to classic country and contemporary Christian. He writes occasionally, reads sporadically, games periodically, sings recreationally, and gives glory to God to the best of his ability.
Sierra Withers – Fiction Editor
Sierra Withers is working towards a major in Psychology and a double minor in Professional writing and Graphic Design. She hopes to be the author of many books. In her free time, she loves to be with her family, rabbits, and make digital art.
Anna Roberts – Website Manager
Anna Roberts is an English major at Shorter who is super excited to work on the Chimes! She loves reading and occasionally torturing herself with doorstop books like Les Misérables. When she isn’t doing schoolwork or reading, she’s probably hanging out with her friends, listening to music, or watching movies.
Fabrice Poussin – Faculty Advisor
Dr. Poussin is a native of France, somewhere between Normandy, Brittany, and the Loire Valley. Professor of English and French at Shorter University, he is a lover of the arts. His publications include thousands of photographs and more than one thousand poems in magazines in the United States and Abroad. He is also the author of four collections of poetry. Most often students will find him walking his daily 11 miles around campus.
Natalie Tankersly – Poetry Editor; Social Media Manager
Natalie Tankersley is a freshman at Shorter University where she is majoring in Communication Studies and English. She has had nine short stories, four poems, and a novella published. She is delighted to be working as a poetry editor as well as director of marketing and advertising for the Chimes.
Branson Redden – Non-fiction Editor
Branson Redden is an English major with a French minor at Shorter University. He has spent his life involved in the Boy Scouts of America where he grew his leadership skills and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He thoroughly enjoys any activities that relate to the outdoors, as well as disc golf. Branson plays many different instruments in his church band and writes songs in his spare time. He rides a motorcycle and loves modifying and learning about cars. He loves cars so much that he aspires to own an automotive customization shop where he will specialize in vinyl wrapping, custom decal application, painting, paint protection, window tinting, exhausts, custom steel fabrication, fiberglass fabrication, carbon-fiber fabrication, and wide-body kit fabrication and installation.
Madalyn DuPree – Chimes Staff
Madalyn DuPree is a sophomore at Shorter University, studying Biochemistry with minors in Psychology and Chemistry. In 2018, she competed at the Olympic Trials for Youth Olympic Lifting followed by qualifying for the American Open in 2020. She enjoys athletics, testing the limits, and bringing people together. Giving all glory to God, she is thankful for the opportunities of athletics, Chimes, and blessings to come.
Shelby Dobson – Chimes Staff
Shelby Dobson was born and raised in Rome, GA. She was homeschooled from 4th grade through high school. She took dual enrollment classes with Shorter. Her hobbies include Lego, reading fantasy books, Squishmallow collecting, and horseback riding. Her favorite authors are Sarah J. Mass, Kiera Cass, and V.E. Schwab.
